We’re living in strange times.
We walk through the subway and see that AI is being marketed as our best friend. Like wtf?
Or we finally look up from our seat and realize that every single person is glued to their phones (including us), missing the actual experience of living.
It honestly makes me a bit sad but when this topic gets brought up in conversation, the feeling that arises is acceptance.
We accept it because it feels like it’s out of our control.
But yesterday during my career pivot AMA, I asked everyone to share a one-word takeaway. I heard “solidarity”, “connection”, and “forward”.
The convos we had were meaningful and necessary and while the world as a whole can feel disconnected and overwhelming at times, we can control our corner.
We get to decide who to surround ourselves with and how we show up.
The way I choose to show up in the world is by connecting others and holding a space for people to share.
I didn’t realize this was the meaning of my work but looking back at my career, it’s laid out so clearly. I’ve always been a community person even though I didn’t carry the title.
I was the connector at work, volunteering to figure out our team event when no one had the time.
I was also the connector in my personal life, getting “random” groups of friends together for Tahoe trips and parties. Fun fact: two of my friends got married and met at a Halloween party I hosted!
That’s because I made the time, I showed up, and I always brought the energy.
My real superpower has never been having all the answers. It’s been bringing people together in a way that makes them feel like they’re going to have the best time ever (because they want to!)
And that’s why I created Just Start.
It’s a 6 week cohort that I designed to have both 1:1 and group support. It’s a space to take action on your career pivot, yes, but also to connect with the right people. The ones choosing to make moves toward the life they want to live now, not later.
I know firsthand how lonely it can be to do something scary or seemingly impossible, but I show up because I know how valuable it will be for those who need it.
Looking back, I know how much I needed something like this when I was stumbling through it alone, struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel in a career that didn’t feel like me anymore.
This program isn’t just mine, it’s ours.
I’m going to listen to what you have to say, customize content based on the group, and build this experience with you.
Because in a world that can feel overwhelming, this is how we show up, creating our corner that feels connected, energizing, and full of possibility.
If you’re curious at all, I made a video that walks you through more of the work we’ll do together.
I’d love to have you join us. Doors close in 5 days, Tuesday, Oct 7!
If you’re on the fence or have questions, reply back to this email (I will respond!). You’re also welcome to book a call with me to talk more about your career pivot and whether this program makes sense for where you're at.
Best,
Maggie
P.S. I’m keeping the cohort intentionally small so everyone gets real support. If this is speaking to you, don't wait! And if price is a real barrier but you need this, let’s chat.
