Quick PSA: I opened up TWO scholarship spots in my Just Start cohort for those who really want to be part of the first cohort but just can't make the financial commitment right now! If this sounds like you, apply here (<5 min).
When you’re working a full-time job or have a full client roster, it’s hard to make time to focus on your next step, even if you want to.
You’re so drained from work that all you want to do is watch TV. Or hang out with your partner. Or scroll on social media.
But when we repeat that pattern day after day, it becomes a habit and that habit delays your progress. You keep pushing it off until “you have more time”.
But the reality is, we don’t have more time. Once our time is spent, it’s gone.
So what we spend it on is really important.
I was talking to someone recently who reached out asking me for advice on his pivot. He felt miserable in his engineering job, but he felt like he only had one option: grind for 2-3 years, save up money, and then (maybe) quit.
That’s definitely one way of doing it but if you ask me, 2-3 years is a long time to be miserable!
When we procrastinate and tell ourselves we’ll do something but don’t do it, we start to lose trust in ourselves. We doubt our ability to do it.
Take my example.
One of my big goals since 2019 was to be a homeowner. I thought owning real estate = my path to financial freedom, so I listened to hours of podcasts, created a rental analysis spreadsheet, found a real estate agent, got pre-approved for a mortgage, and almost closed on a home.
But when it came to actually going through with the purchase, I froze. I told myself it was too much money. I didn’t have experience owning real estate. I was going to make a big mistake.
And what happened? I didn’t go through with it.
Weeks went by, then months, then years. I stopped prioritizing it for a long time until I made it my priority.
I’m so happy I did because not only did I accomplish my goal, I built trust in my ability to follow through with myself.
How to prioritize when you’re a busy bee
I’m in a busy season of my life right now.
I have a full client schedule with events and retreats in the fall, but I also know that creating my own signature offer was something I really wanted to do this year.
So even though I’m busy, I’m making it a priority.
If you want to take a look at my capacity, I’ve mapped it out for the rest of the year with some open capacity in December for holidays and 2026 planning.

My capacity tracker
I don’t want to be working 40 hour weeks forever (25 hours is my future goal), but I’m choosing to balance client work that helps pay me while I build out my career experiment (the Just Start cohort) that could grow into something bigger over time.
As you can see my capacity was over 100% in September because of the launch and will be stretched in November, but I made an intentional choice to prioritize it because it ladders to my long term goals.
So if a career pivot is your priority, but you’re not prioritizing it, ask yourself why AND be really honest with yourself.
Are you distracting yourself with other activities that keep you busy?
Are you afraid of the change that might happen when you decide to choose a new path?
Are you overwhelmed with the amount of time and energy it’ll take that you keep delaying?
Are you waiting for your calendar to free up later?
If any of those sound familiar, you’re not alone.
The truth is, building self-trust starts here… in the small, everyday moments when you choose to follow through on what matters to you.
It’s not about overhauling your life overnight. It’s about proving to yourself, one decision at a time, that you can make time for what you really want.
We’ll take a look at your capacity, make space to experiment, and build a schedule that works for you. You’ll have access to me to customize a plan WITH you, but you’ll also have a community of others who are figuring it out too.
Because the fact is that everyone is busy! It’s the ones who choose to prioritize what matters now who will see real change sooner.
And whether you do it through this cohort or on your own, I hope you make space for what matters most.
✍ Your homework:
Write down all of the “priorities” on your list. Put a star ⭐ next to your top 2 and cross off the things that aren’t.
The doors for Just Start close in TWO days on Tuesday, October 7 at midnight EST.
And if you have any questions or on the fence wondering how you’ll fit this into your schedule, reply back to this email, and we can map out some ways to prioritize this together.
Best,
Maggie
