I’m looking to interview 10-15 of you to help shape what I do next! This is not a sales call, just at a crossroads and would love your help. As a token of my appreciation, I’ll offer guidance on a specific marketing or career challenge you’re facing. Express interest >

I was lucky to be in New York when the Knicks won the championship on Saturday.

Strangers were dancing in the street. Champagne was being passed around. Fireworks were going off. People who had nothing in common—different incomes, different boroughs, completely different worldviews—were celebrating together.

And honestly? NYC needed this. 53 years is a long time to wait.

As I was dancing to Nuevayol at 2am, what I kept thinking was: this is what community actually feels like.

It’s about a shared sense of values. It wasn’t just a win for NYC. It was proof that if you work really hard and don’t give up, you can be a champion. I’m not a big basketball person, but I can get behind that.

A community is something I’ve been thinking about building since I left my job. While I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do next, I knew I loved bringing people together, which is why I ventured into events and retreats.

But as the months went by, I found myself getting busier and busier.

Responding to emails, writing content on LinkedIn, hosting workshops, client work, attending events, coffee chats, admin! The list of things can feel never-ending.

It’s something we do a lot. We store the idea we really want in our back pocket and go forth on the other things that seem easier and more realistic. We justify not working on it and say we’ll do it when the time feels right.

Some people never take the idea back out of their pocket. They donate their jeans, forgetting the idea is still folded neatly for later. Others stumble upon it again and finally decide to take a small step forward toward it.

Your back pocket idea

If you have an idea you’ve been sitting on for a while, consider this your sign to dust it off and take it back out of your pocket.

If you need some inspiration, here are just a few of the ideas I’ve heard from conversations with you all:

  • Creating an Etsy shop to help busy moms plan parties and events

  • Creating AI philosophy salons with conversational cards

  • Advising on Customer Success and Startup Operations

  • Building a Consulting Collective to pool resources and find shared work

  • Starting an HR consulting firm to help advise employees on HR challenges and questions
