Last week, I shared my Q2 revenue, growth numbers, and other things I worked on. This week, I’m breaking down the revenue, sharing a few learnings (revelations?), and what I’m focusing on in Q3.
📈 Q2 Revenue Breakdown

☔ April: $8,422.70
In April, most of my revenue came from my retainer PMM contract and freelancing with an event agency. It was my first project with them, and I didn’t know what to expect! There were definitely a few long hours worked this month, which contributed to the revenue numbers I saw in May.
🌸 May: $20,587.35
In May, I hit $20K in revenue, which felt big! I broke it down here and realized while it was great to hit this milestone, the way in which I was hitting this # didn’t feel sustainable.
🌻 June: $16,032.26
In June, I worked onsite for 10 days in Orlando for a conference. It was pretty crazy to see everything that went into it, but I enjoyed running around on the conference floor and meeting lots of new faces. I also randomly got a sale on my Etsy page where I put all the templates I’ve used for friend’s bachelorette invites lol.
Total Q2 Revenue: $45,042.31
🤓 Q2 Learnings
Being self-employed doesn’t mean you work alone.
While I am a business of one, I haven’t felt lonely. Part of this has been to my lifestyle—I enjoy hanging out with friends, traveling, and being social.
But part of this is also because I’m collaborating with people on a weekly basis, meeting new people for coffee, or working onsite at an event. It’s awesome to choose the people you get to work with!Be ready for taxes!
While I had paid some taxes in the beginning of the year, for some reason, I didn’t quite expect to be paying $12K every quarter (this is based on the amount of money I hope to earn in 2025).
When my CPA told me this, it hurt. I had already set aside 30% of my income each quarter for taxes but for some reason, it doesn’t really hit you until you have to press send to the IRS.Energy and seasons play a role in business.
Being in NYC, I’ve become more attuned to the seasons, and I think it plays a vital role in the energy you bring to your life and business.
In the winter/spring, I was in hustle mode setting up my business and finding clients. Now that it’s summer, I want to slow down a bit more and be intentional with my time, esp. since I’m going to be in London for a few weeks and want to enjoy it!
⏭ What’s next in Q3
My 2025 business goals were (1) to generate $150K in revenue, (2) to grow my personal brand, and (3) to experiment with my offers.
I’ve been semi-consistent with #1 and #2, but I want to focus on #3 in Q3.
I’ve had a lot of coffee chats with all of you who are figuring out what’s next, and I want to do some actual research!
If you have 2 min, I’d love it if you could fill out this form. At the end, it asks if you would be open to chatting with me live in July & August (totally optional). I’m looking to hopefully have convos with 10-15 folks!
💭 Final thoughts
I share all of this info not for comparison on my journey but to be transparent and show you it is possible to make money outside of your 9-5.
When I was in corporate, it felt impossible to make enough to survive, but now I realize that it might take a little while, but the first step is to start!
💬 Your turn
What’s next for you this Q3?
✨ Weekly Feels
This week felt like peak summer. Being outside on a rooftop, eating a hot dog, followed by an ice cream. I’m headed to the Catskills this week to check on the house (and re-silicone the shower). Excited to dip my toes in the creek, do some yoga, and go for a hike.
