By the time this newsletter comes out, I’ll be boarding my plane back to NYC.
What was supposed to be a three week trip turned into a five week adventure.
It’s opened me up to new perspectives, calmed my nervous system, and energized me to continue down my path toward a more aligned life.
Like most things I try that are new and scary, I treated it like an experiment.
During my London visit, I wanted to learn:
Do I like living here?
Can I make friends in a new city?
Would I want to move here?
To my surprise, I answered these questions relatively quickly, but there were also new revelations I never expected. Things like:
How accustomed I was with the hustle culture of NYC. Even though it was logistically a bit difficult to figure out how to spend a month+ in London w/o double paying rent, this reprieve was much needed.
How one my truest desires is to be seen as exactly who I am, but how it’s hard to show my authentic self to others due to fear of judgement. I wrote more about this here.
How by trusting my intuition and letting go of expectations, this experience has been more than I could have asked for.
That’s the thing about travel—it doesn’t just give you new memories, it gives you new ways of seeing yourself.
While my trip to London may be over for now, these are the learnings I’m bringing back with me to NYC.
I can still make new friends in my 30s
When I traveled alone in my 20s, I’d stay in hostels and make friends in the lobby. I’d attend group dinners, go on bar crawls, and wake up at noon some days.
Now that I’m 31, I didn’t want to do that, but I still wanted to have fun and meet new, interesting people.
I joined a coworking space, played pickup volleyball, attended a language exchange, and made an effort to meet people doing similar things.
I was reminded that when in your normal routine, it can be easy to live in your comfort zone.
When I get back to NYC, I want to do more of the things I love and prioritize meeting more solopreneurs living a non-traditional lifestyle.
Follow your intuition, even when you’re scared
I’ve struggled with self-trust for a long time.
It can show up on a daily basis—with decision-making or the way we talk to ourselves.
But for me, there’s a guiding voice telling me to do something, even if I’m scared.
The voice that told me it was time to move to NYC, even when I didn’t know a soul. The voice that told me carve a new path, even when that meant turning down a high-paying salary. The voice that told me to work in London for a month, even if that meant giving up a fun, NYC summer.
This trip has proven to me that I can trust myself to take bold risks, to follow my intuition, and to let go of expectations.
The “yes” comes before the “how”
So, will I be moving abroad to London? At the time of writing this, it feels like it’s inevitable, which feels scary to “type” out loud.
The same voice that I mentioned is showing up again to tell me it’s time to try something new.
And while I don’t have a set date yet or details about how it would work, I like to think that the “yes” comes before the “how”.
Because when you commit to doing something, you figure out the steps along the way.
I’ll continue to listen to that and see where it takes me.
🧠 Final thoughts
Your intuition knows more than you think, you just need to listen.
The next time you feel that quiet pull toward something new, experiment with following it. You don’t have to know every step of the journey, you just need to take the first one.
💬 Your turn
What has your intuition quietly been telling you lately?
✨ Weekly Feels
Feeling busy!
I had the best little weekend roadtripping in the English countryside—hiking in nature, skipping rocks, and visiting cute little villages.
When I get back to the US, it’s busy szn! My free workshop is happening this Wednesday. Then, I’d like to go to The Catskills before I head to my friend’s wedding next weekend in CA. Later in September, I start event season with my first event kicking off 9/16. If you’d like to help onsite, reply back to this email with your phone #.
